If you are interested in learning about Osteopathic Medicine and would like to shadow a physician, email us with your name, contact information, areas of medicine that interest you, and your medical school plans.

Student Recruitment & Placement Committee Policy
Each fall the Rhode Island Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (RISOPS) Student Recruitment & Placement Committee provides Rhode Island students an opportunity to interview for possible recommendation to the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM). Interviews are held on the third Saturday in September.
To schedule an interview each applicant must submit the following materials by August 17th:
- College transcripts
- MCAT Scores
- Copy of your AACOM Application
- Two (2) letters of recommendation are required; at least one must be from an undergraduate professor. The other letter may be from a physician, supervising clinician, or employer.
- Proof you are a Rhode Island resident or grew up in Rhode Island
- Personal Statement (the personal statement from your AACOM application may be used)
